Description
A rustic apple galette made with flaky pastry and sweet cinnamon apples. No alcohol, bacon, or ham used.

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 4 tablespoons ice water
- 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, sliced
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
Instructions
- Mix flour, salt, and sugar in a bowl. Cut in cold butter until pea-sized. Add ice water and form a dough. Wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
- Roll dough into a 12-inch circle on a floured surface. Transfer to the baking sheet.
- Toss apple slices with sugar and cinnamon. Arrange them in the center of the dough, leaving a 2-inch border.
- Fold the edges over the apples. Brush the crust with melted butter.
- Bake for 35 minutes until golden and apples are tender. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
- You can use any apple variety. Granny Smith works well.
