Description
A moist and tender cake made with apples and yogurt. Simple to prepare.

- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 medium apple, peeled and diced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix yogurt, sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined.
- Toss diced apple with lemon juice, then fold into the batter.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan. Smooth the top.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. A toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- You can use any apple variety, such as Granny Smith or Fuji.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Serve plain or with a dusting of powdered sugar.
