Description
A simple skillet chicken dish with apples and warm spices. It brings autumn flavor to your table.

- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 apples, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Season chicken with salt and pepper. Add to skillet and cook until golden, about 4 minutes per side.
- Remove chicken from skillet. Set aside.
- Add onions and apples to the skillet. Cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Pour in apple cider and chicken broth. Stir in cinnamon and thyme.
- Return chicken to the skillet. Bring to a simmer.
- Cover and cook for 10 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.
- Serve warm with the sauce.
Notes
- Use firm apples like Honeycrisp or Fuji.
- You can use chicken thighs instead of breasts.
- For a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water. Stir into the sauce and cook until thickened.
