These baked apple cider donuts are soft, spiced, and full of apple flavor. Perfect for fall mornings.

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For coating: 1/4 cup melted butter and 1/4 cup cinnamon sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, mix apple cider, oil, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- While still warm, brush each donut with melted butter and dip in cinnamon sugar.
Notes
- Use fresh apple cider for the best flavor.
- You can substitute buttermilk for apple cider if needed.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
