Description

This pumpkin bread is moist, spiced, and tastes better than Starbucks. You can make it at home with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 can (15 ounces) pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil, eggs, pumpkin puree, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Pour the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Spread it evenly.
  6. Bake for 60 to 65 minutes. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.
  7. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Store leftover bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • You can add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or chocolate chips to the batter if desired.
  • For a sweeter top, sprinkle a little granulated sugar on the batter before baking.
