Description

A moist and rich pound cake sweetened with brown sugar for a deep caramel flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.
  2. Cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  4. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Alternately add flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with flour.
  6. Stir in vanilla extract.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 70-80 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the batter after adding flour.
  • For best results, use room-temperature ingredients.
  • Let the cake cool completely before slicing.
