Description

Rich chocolate brownies swirled with pumpkin puree and warm spices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon cloves

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold until just combined.
  5. In a small bowl, mix pumpkin puree with cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  6. Pour brownie batter into the pan. Drop spoonfuls of pumpkin mixture on top. Swirl with a knife.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • Use room temperature eggs for a better texture.
  • Line your pan with parchment for easy removal.
  • Do not overmix the batter to keep brownies fudgy.
