- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 pound potato gnocchi
- 8 ounces burrata cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes, heavy cream, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Stir well and bring to a simmer. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- While the sauce simmers, cook gnocchi according to package instructions. Drain well.
- Add cooked gnocchi to the sauce and toss gently to coat.
- Divide gnocchi among bowls. Tear burrata and place on top.
- Garnish with fresh basil and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use fresh basil if you have it. Add it at the end for more flavor.
- For a lighter version, replace heavy cream with half-and-half.
- You can substitute store-bought gnocchi with homemade if you prefer.
