Description

Crescent Apple Dumplings are a quick dessert using crescent rolls and fresh apples, baked in a sweet sauce.


Ingredients

  • 2 large apples, peeled and cored
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup orange juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut each apple into 8 wedges.
  3. Separate crescent roll dough into 8 triangles.
  4. Place one apple wedge on each triangle and roll up.
  5. Place dumplings in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  7. Stir in sugars, cinnamon, and orange juice. Bring to a boil.
  8. Pour sauce over dumplings.
  9. Bake for 30 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
  10. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use firm apples like Granny Smith for best results.
  • Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.
