Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons maple syrup, 1-2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, maple syrup, and vanilla.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
  5. Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness on a floured surface. Cut with maple leaf cookie cutter.
  6. Place cookies 2 inches apart on prepared sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  7. Cool on wire racks. Whisk glaze ingredients until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
