- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and honey until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Stir in vanilla.
- Add the flour mixture in three parts, alternating with milk, starting and ending with flour. Mix until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan. Smooth the top.
- Bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Use a mild honey like clover or orange blossom for best flavor.
- Let the cake cool completely before slicing to avoid crumbling.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
