Description
Crispy fried pickle spirals with a spicy kick. Perfect as a snack or appetizer.

- 1 jar dill pickle spears (about 24 oz)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Drain pickles and pat dry. Cut each spear into a spiral by slicing lengthwise in a continuous spiral motion.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk buttermilk and egg.
- Dip each pickle spiral into the buttermilk mixture, then coat in flour mixture. Shake off excess.
- Heat 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet to 375°F (190°C).
- Fry pickles in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve immediately with ranch or spicy mayo.
Notes
- Use thick dill pickle spears for best spirals.
- Adjust cayenne for desired heat.
- Pat pickles very dry to avoid splattering.
