Ingredients
Scale
- 6 medium apples (such as Gala or Fuji), peeled, cored, and chopped
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (optional)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Place chopped apples, water, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice in the Instant Pot. Stir to combine.
- Close the lid and set the valve to sealing. Select Manual or Pressure Cook on high for 8 minutes.
- When the timer ends, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes, then quick release any remaining steam.
- Open the lid. Mash the apples with a potato masher or blend with an immersion blender for your desired texture.
- Let the applesauce cool before serving or storing in airtight containers.
Notes
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- For unsweetened applesauce, omit the sugar.
- You can add a pinch of nutmeg or allspice for extra flavor.
