Description

Ingredients

  • 1 whole turkey (1214 lbs)
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Pat turkey dry and season inside and out with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and thyme.
  3. Place turkey on a rack in a roasting pan.
  4. Mix maple syrup, melted butter, and soy sauce in a bowl.
  5. Brush half the glaze over the turkey.
  6. Roast turkey for 3 hours, basting with remaining glaze every 30 minutes.
  7. Check internal temperature reaches 165°F in the thickest part of the thigh.
  8. Let turkey rest 20 minutes before carving.
