- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add diced onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until soft.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in vegetable broth and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, dried thyme, and red pepper flakes.
- Add the butter beans to the skillet.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot.

- For a thicker sauce, mash some beans with a fork before adding cream.
