Description

A flavorful duck dish with a sweet and tangy orange ginger glaze.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 whole duck (about 5 lbs)
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Pat the duck dry and season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a bowl, mix orange juice, honey, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and orange zest.
  4. Brush half of the glaze over the duck.
  5. Roast the duck for 1 hour, basting with remaining glaze every 15 minutes.
  6. Increase heat to 400°F and roast for another 15-20 minutes until crispy.
  7. Let rest for 10 minutes before carving.

  • Use fresh orange juice for best flavor.
  • Check internal temperature—it should reach 165°F.
  • Serve with steamed rice or roasted vegetables.
