Description

Soft and chewy apple snickerdoodles combine the classic cinnamon sugar cookie with fresh apple flavor.


Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup finely diced apple (peeled)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and 3/4 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  4. Mix in dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in diced apple.
  5. Combine 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  6. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll each ball in cinnamon sugar mixture.
  7. Place balls 2 inches apart on prepared sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  8. Cool on sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.

  • Use a firm apple like Granny Smith for best texture.
  • Chill dough for 30 minutes if too sticky to handle.
