Description

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh or canned peaches, sliced
  • 2 cups sugar, divided
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 8 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine peaches, 1 cup sugar, and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Melt butter in a 3-quart baking dish.
  4. Mix flour, remaining 1 cup sugar, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon in a bowl. Pour over melted butter.
  5. Spoon peach mixture over batter. Do not stir.
  6. Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.

Notes
