These soft Halloween sugar cookies are easy to make and decorate. They are perfect for parties or treats.

- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- Food coloring (orange, black, purple)
- Sprinkles or candy eyes for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Mix flour, baking soda, and baking powder in a bowl.
- Beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Mix well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture. Stir until dough forms.
- Divide dough into portions. Add food coloring to each portion to create Halloween colors.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Place them 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
- Flatten each ball slightly with your palm. Decorate with sprinkles or candy eyes.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Edges should be lightly golden.
- Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
- Chill dough for 30 minutes if it feels too soft to handle.
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
